ABOUT THE CLUB This is one of the oldest clubs in the area established in 1961 at Needle Industries in Studley. Our president is one of the founder members of the club. We offer a varied programme of lectures and competitions. The former, often by experts, covering many topics and aspects of technique. The competitions provide friendly rivalry and incentive at all levels, providing an opportunity to see and enjoy each other’s work. Members are also encouraged to enter a wide variety of external competitions, which often results in having work on public display. We have also exhibited and sold our work from a local Gallery staging an exhibition in the summer. The committee is elected annually to run the club’s affairs and all members of the committee are listed in the club handbook/programme booklet. All are receptive to members ideas and are keen to provide a useful service to the members. The club actively welcomes new members from beginners to the more experienced. The membership shows a good cross section of ages and gender as well as photographic expertise! We have a reputation for being a friendly and social crowd. All types of cameras and media are used, from black and white to colour film, and now much more commonly, digital imaging. Competition entries of colour work using film may be trade processed. We have members of all abilities and interests, from Video, Digital Slide and Audio Visual to newer technologies. The group contains members from the camera club and outside. This allows members of whatever interest to expand their creative horizons. |
